TWENTY MINUTES OF APOLOGY

Well, here we are again. This is amazing to me that we've been able to get this thing done for six years now. I can still remember that first year and how timid we were about whether or not we should even try to publish a zine. We had no idea people would actually want to read cousin stories.

But here we are again. I hope you enjoy the stories this time around. We've cut back a bit in size from last year. It was getting to be too much for Elaine and me to handle, and we were afraid we were losing quality in areas such as proofing. This is a little more manageable.

I was surprised at the amount of flack I got for not doing a Reunion story in #5. Sorry about that. I had only planned on the four and didn't realize how much some people were looking forward to more. I wasn't sure I would be able to do one this year, but I persevered and got it done. It's not as long as the others, but I hope you still find it enjoyable. It's not exactly easy to write when you're battling morning sickness.

I do want to thank our writers for their hard work. This year we welcome two new authors -- Erin Cady and Jo Seaver. I appreciate their efforts along with everybody else. This means you -- Maura, Mark, Steve, Nita, Gina, Pat, Becky and Elaine.

This year artwork is a bit scarce. Our artists are incredibly busy people, with lots of other interests to occupy their talents. I really appreciate Peggy's job on the covers and the other art she was able to get done for us. Also a thanks to Joy. Even though hers was done last year, we weren't able to use it in #5, so it found a home in this issue.

Cathy gets her own special very honorable mention here. She did enough proofing for ten people and probably saved Elaine a nervous breakdown.

Once more I have to give all the credit to Elaine. She spends tireless hours working on this puppy in many capacities. We'd never get done with her.

And also my family for putting up with Mom's obsessions. Thanks Kerry, Devin, Ian, Andrew and the expected whosit (who hasn't made working on the zine very much fun, let me tell you.).

That's all for now. Have fun reading and if you get a chance, let us know what you think. Enjoy,

Jill Hargan
