How to begin this year... I could list all the things we didn't have to put up with. Like the fact that we didn't move this year, or that we didn't have an earthquake. We did have a deadline, but hey, like that made any difference. I guess it wouldn't be a proper zine if we weren't scrambling right up to the last minute. And we did do lots of scrambling this year. I'm pleased to say though, that we managed to come up with another mammoth issue. I didn't think we could top last year, but here we are again with over 300 pages of tiny print for you to enjoy.
I do have to mention (since this is the right place for apologies) that this year's reunion story was both a pleasure and a chore for me: a pleasure to finally get to write about Andy, and a chore to have to come up with a love story that wouldn't bore anyone who wasn't into Andy and Cait. I hope I managed to please everyone.
There are so many wonderful cousins out there I need to thank. Let me start off by thanking our readers. We seem to have developed our own small fandom and I love it. Without all of you, Relativity would probably just sort of fizzle away.
I also need to thank our authors for once again coming up with new ideas and adventures for our favorite family to get into. Thank you Nita, Becky, Maura, Steve, Sharon, Pat, Robin, Gina and Mark. Oh yeah... and Elaine for waiting until the last moment to finally decide she would have time to write. It was worth the wait. I also have to add a special note of thanks to Pat Gonzales, whose Katie Laura universe keeps getting more and more absorbed into ours. I think it's a wonderful combination.
And then there's our artistic friends. I have so much admiration for their talents, it's hard to put into words. They add life to our stories and I applaud them for their efforts. Thanks to Kate, Peggy, Mariann, Joy, Nita, Mike and Cathy. I also owe a lot of thanks to Sharon for coordinating those efforts over long distance and e-mail.
I also want to thank everyone who helped proof these stories. I know that no matter how much you like something, reading for the 10th time in as many days gets a little tiresome.
And I do have to mention Elaine. Even though she thinks she was a slug this year, she did an awful lot. Without her relentless drive we'd never get this thing done. And on top of that, she managed to write a near epic. Thanks, Partner.
Oh yeah, and my family... they are the best. They put up with a lot while we get this done. They seem to know
when it starts to be zine season. With all my heart, thank you, Kerry, Devin, Ian and Andrew.
