TWENTY MINUTES OF APOLOGY

So what else could possibly happen this year? Besides your basic natural disasters like fires, floods, mudslides, and a minor, little EARTHQUAKE!!!, we also had to deal with three marriages, one funeral, two moves and three kids with chicken pox, (of course at the same time we were trying to move).

It's amazing to me that we even got the zine done, let alone put out the biggest issue yet. Most of the thanks are due to all the wonderful people who gathered their shattered nerves and buckled down to write, despite all the aftershocks.

This year we had several submissions from new friends. This was great, since the Michaels family is in desperate need of some new blood in their gene pool. It's always great to see other people's view of the "universe."

I need to acknowledge, first of all, Sharon Dickerson, our official "Cousinart" Procurer. She did a great job this year of groveling to artists. We got more artwork this issue than we knew what to do with. This of course, leads me to my own share of groveling and thanking the people who drew for us. Having absolutely no drawing talent at all, it is always amazing to me what can be done in so short a time. Thanks to Joy, Roseanne, Mariann, Nita, Robin and Brenda for sharing your talents.

Of course, where would we be without our authors? Up a certain creek without a paddle. Thanks to everyone who took the time to write for us. The stories are great this year. Also thanks for putting up with all our editing neuroses. I, myself, cringe when I see Elaine coming with a green marking pen.

Speaking of Elaine (great segue, I know), I once more have to thank my co-editor for all her tireless work. There is absolutely no way Relativity could be done without her efforts Though she ran out of time and didn't get to write a story for this issue, she'll have one for next year, I promise. (notice the thinly veiled threat?)

I must now personally thank Maura Kelly for just happening to mention these two characters on her soap that she was planning to include in her story. Oh silly me, I thought I ought to see what they were like. I now watch "Another World" everyday and my kids can sing the theme song. "How the mighty have fallen!" Oh well.

If you keep track of little details, you might notice we updated the genealogy this year. We added some more people and corrected a few errors. Hopefully this will keep everybody straight.

Also this year, we've expanded our apocryphal section. I hope you enjoy these stories. They're all meant in fun. I want to be sure no one is offended by "Politically Correct." Take it in the spirit it was intended... well, maybe not.

That about does it, except for once again thanking my family for putting up with my obsession. Thank you, Kerry, Devin, Ian and Andrew. I couldn't do it without you.
