TWENTY MORE MINUTES OF APOLOGY

Okay, this time I didn't read Jill's editorial first, so I guess I get to be redundant without knowing it. It's pretty obvious that we owe a lot of thanks to everyone. I'd like to start off by thanking the people who bought and read the last Relativity and especially all those who gave us feedback and some of the odd candidates for cousins. I can only say... you write it, we'll read it and, if nothing else, it can go in the apocryphal section. We'd love to see anyone's additions to the family.

I would like to apologize up front for any typos and problems in this zine or the last one. How can 5 to 7 people miss the same misspelled word? It still always amazes me. Really, we do proofread! I also hand-check every issue for backwards pages, missing pages, etc., but if my mind should glaze over at night while doing this and the paging is somehow messed up, please feel free to write and it will be corrected.

Of course, I have to thank all of our proofreaders: Brenda Wagner, Barb Wagner, Robin Cloward, Maura Kelly and Andrew Hargan (who was particularly brutal to my story when asked his opinion).

Without our writers we would have been stuck big time, I think they're all wonderful: Annita Smith, Marianne Evensen, Maura Kelly and Robin Cloward.

We had a terrific group of cheerleaders pushing us on to completion of this project: Abdul, the Mid-West and Southwest Affiliated California Crew and of course, Sharon Dickerson. Sharon is our chief procurer of artwork and it is always appreciated, especially when she puts up with panic attacks from me at unseemly hours of the night.

Thank you to our wonderful artists: Robin Cloward (Don't you just hate talented people who can write and draw!), Joy Riddle, Annita Smith and Mariann Howarth. They all came up, on very short notice, with wonderful stuff for us. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Thank you, Kerry, for giving up most of your Saturday to format and print out this monstrosity on a great printer.

And of course, where would we be without Jill and her stories. Especially "Reunion III" which was supposed to be my 1987 birthday present. I couldn't believe it when she handed it to me only a few short weeks ago after telling me it just wasn't going to be done. She got inspired after conference calling Pat G. on the phone one night. Thank you, again. (I just wish Jill didn't work best when we're under pressure to get the zine out ("Yes, Jill, I want this story from you, but we need to go to press in two weeks and everything still needs to be input and edited...")

Now, a quick word of explanation and apology about my story. Argh! I've only written once before and it appeared in our school club zine (which had to publish anything handed in) but I was being harassed to write something for Relativity. I believe my "friends" wanted a chance to "comment" on something I wrote for a change. So I told Maura if she gave me a plot, I would write. Unfortunately, she did (Thanks ever so much, Maura!) and it's in this zine. I'm not quite sure how it happened, but the story has Maura's basic plot, but suddenly her point to the story and my point to the story diverged widely. She liked it anyway. But I have to express my appreciation to Maura for the idea and the fine staff of Classic WKRP writers for my opening and closing dialog. When Maura told me the boys were all skiing except for Andy, I finally realized the whole story behind the WKRP episode where Les wanted to go to New York and Andy had to cancel his vacation. I hope you like the story and, think kindly of me. I had the mother of all colds when I wrote it and I actually fell asleep one night sitting up in front of my word processor.

Please feel free to write and give your opinions on the zine. We'd love to hear from you. Again, thanks for your patronage. Enjoy.

Toodle-oo!
