Dedicated to JIM THE FROG: His life story has been an inspiration to us all - an example of how far you can go when you just try.

The purpose of this glossary is to explain any obscure reference to characters or things present in some of the stories in this zine. Some people insist on using names referred to in stories not in this zine or like to use characters from old and new television shows no one has ever heard of, or is ever likely to thus my reason for existence.

ALTERNATE UNIVERSES - Alternate Universes are found in stories about characters already created with a future, but somebody decided a different fate would be better for them. Sometimes they are already in existence when a show veers into another path and discredits what the hardworking fan has labored over. Instead of chucking all these wonderful stories, suddenly we have an Alternate Universe. Of course, sometimes the original author/producer gets his facts wrong and someone must correct these mistakes... Relativity.

BETHIE - Bethie is a character from a Battlestar: Galactica story called "A Quiet Whisper" written by Jill. She was a poor sad child befriended by Starbuck. He stuck her in a hole and she died. "A Quiet Whisper" does not appear in this zine - to tell the truth, it has never appeared in any zine - and, by the way, there is no reference to her in any story in Relativity.

BLUE LEADER - Blue Leader is from first season Scarecrow & Mrs. King. He is the unseen leader of The Agency. He was known to communicate to the agents through their car radios, but we lost him second season when he evolved into Dr. Smith.

CAITLIN - Caitlin is a character created by Annita Smith. She first appeared in an Egualizer story, "Trial by Existence" (published in Prime Time 4). Annita has also written about her in "Made of Steele" and "Murphy's Steele", neither of which has seen the light of zine yet. She's RemRem's sister, Andy's wife and has had a sad life (can't believe she's not Jill's creation). She started out as a hooker, but ended up with Andy (see references to Reunion III and Reunion IV in this Glossary).

THE "COLONEL" - The Colonel is Lee's uncle. First season Scarecrow & Mrs. King referred to him only by name. Second season they gave him a face and last name. It was not Stetson - which would make him Lee's mother's brother. He was a bit red-necked, she was a proper British woman. Relativity believes the contradictions cancel each other. Colonel Stetson is Lee's father's brother and Jenny Michaels Stetson is from Santa Fe, New Mexico.

GOUSH - "Goushe" is a word that needs to be understood to appreciate Jill's (and other's) stories. A "Gougch" is a word that has no correct spelling. Jill loves to write "Gooshes". This is a story with a character being incredibly noble while overcoming extreme obstacles and being a poor sad baby all at the same time. It can entail a certain amount of hurt/comfort (emotional or physical) but is to an extreme degree. Murphy is a prime example. We all think of him as a "Gooshe" but nothing in Remington Steele gives a solid background for this interpretation. Jill is the Queen of the "Guoush". (Glotterizer's Note: A "Goushie" is a short poem with the above referenced characteristics.)

MAN WHO NEVER WAS - The Man Who Never Was was a short-lived ABC show on from 1966 to 1967. Robert Lansing was Peter Murphy, an American espionage agent. He was being pursued by German spies, they found millionaire Mark Wainwright (Peter's exact double) and killed him by mistake. Peter took Wainwright's identity and life. Theory has it that Peter/Wainwright eventually evolved into the Equalizer's "Control". Found in Gina's "Trading Secrets."

THE MFB - Lisa Pearce (who takes a great deal of delight from the fact her last name is reminiscent of a certain Irish Blue-Eyes-To-Die-For actor) says we must reference The MB. The "B" stands for Blues and the 'IN" stands for Moody. One of their songs is playing on WJZZ in Jill's story, "The Past Is Steele With Us". While leaving a MB'S concert one night, a highly inebriated (read: stoned) retro-hippie was heard to exclaim, "The Moody F---in Blues." Happy, Lisa?

MURPHY'S LEG - Fans of first season Remington Steele are all familiar with Murphy Michaels. They may not, however, remember him having a limp. This is because he didn't! Jill did it to him in the story, "Will You Steele Need Me?" published in Steele Files I (okay Pat, where's II?). Truthfully, Jill likes to do nasties to poor ol' Murph. One sad baby. Reunion III will be his story.. .for those of you who ~ hurt/comfort.

RAGS TO RICHES - Rags to Riches was a short-lived NBC series set in the 1960's. Joe Bologna starred as a playboy millionaire bachelor who ended up taking in five orphan girls (six in the pilot - one amazingly disappeared). The show was done in the format of a movie musical. At major plot points, the music would swell and the girls would break out into song and dance. The show as a lot of fun.

REUNION II, III, IV - These are, as yet, unwritten stories by JBH, but they are completely worked out (and have been for years - why they are unwritten is beyond me!). For the last few months Jill has been using these stories like hostages. She started writing again after many years' hiatus (four stories were written within the last little bit of time - "The Past is Steele With Us", "The Parting","There And Back Again" and "A Friend In Need"). Every time she would hand me a new addition, and I would roll my eyes (she was supposed to be inputting, editing and proofing - not writing) she would ask me if I really wanted any more Reunion stores and did I want her to never write again. She will be writing these stories in the near future! (Rh was supposed to be my birthday present in 1987 - instead I got a record with a song on it she wanted to hear.) I don't take kindly to blackmail. I have enlisted friends in my cause. Jill's life is forfeit if we are not appeased. We will have a Relativity II. Heh, heh, heh!

A brief outline of the other Reunion stories is as follows:

Reunion II: This is Skips's story, but Murphy marries Sherry in it.

Reunion III: Skip schedules the Reunion at Disneyland. It's Murphy's story. Cait and Andy meet for the first time. (Glotterizer's note: We had a blast checking out Disneyland and the park's hotel for where the Micaela' Clan stayed - we're all looking forward to this story.)

Reunion IV: Andy's and Caitlin's story, they marry in this episode.

Please feel free to write Jill and tell her how much she needs to keep writing. Thank you for your support.
